Protective Behaviours in Class

“Mrs Sarah Taylor visited our Pre-Primary class this week to help teach our students about Protective Behaviours and Child Safety. It was wonderful to have her support and expertise in this very important and sensitive area. The children really enjoyed the lessons which included discussions, songs with actions and some art work to help consolidate the concepts being taught. Sarah has a lovely, gentle way of engaging with students while at the same time providing clear and concise messages and strategies. Our students are still talking about her visit and have gained valuable skills and knowledge in keeping themselves safe.” ~ Pamela Woollams, Pre-Primary Teacher.

“Thank you for a very clear lesson on protective behaviours with a focus on public and private parts. You session was well sequenced, well structured, well suited to the Year 1/2 class with an engaging, supportive story and activity. The message was clear and children were able to confidently use the correct anatomical name for their private parts. Your support in delivering this lesson assisted me, the classroom teacher, in presenting the correct information in a factual manner. The way you delivered the information was in a supportive environment that encouraged participation from all children. It is obvious that you clearly know your information and are presenting on a topic that is passionate to you. Your passion comes through to the children and they are interested in learning about these protective behaviours. Thank you for such an effective delivery on what can be an embarrassing and difficult lesson for teachers to teach.” ~ Jodie Ford, Year 2 Teacher.
