Protective Behaviours (Early Learning Centres Only)
2.5 Hour Workshop
This workshop is specifically designed for educators working in early learning centres. The Protective Behaviours program teaches and promotes concepts of emotional literacy, empowerment, assertiveness, problem solving and an understanding of safety. In teaching these concepts and strategies Protective Behaviours aims to prevent abuse, increase safety and reduce violence.
- State the ten topic areas of the Protective Behaviours program.
- Overview of the different forms of child abuse.
- Discuss the ‘grooming process’ and explain how it inhibits the disclosure of abuse.
- Understand the impact of trauma on emotional regulation.
